Topic for discussion: should Larry Summers be the next Secretary of the Treasury?
(It's hard to believe that I've already met two high-ranking cabinet members in my uneventful life. Summers was one. The other was the Secretary of Defense under the first President Bush. What was that guy's name again?)

I'm not sure he has the politesse for the job. He couldn't handle the egos of Harvard professors. I think he'll have similar problems with the prima donnas in Congress who will be breathing down his neck.
Timothy Noah, the slate columnist who shrewdly predicted the primary would be over by Super Duper Tuesday, agrees with me about Summers:
